Able seafarer deck is a deck rating competency involving deck work on ships and, where necessary, participation in navigational watches and steering under the supervision of an officer of the watch. It is a rank attained by promotion from ordinary seaman.

Who can attend the course?
Applicants over the age of 18 who have completed primary education and have at least 12 months of sea service with an ordinary seaman competency may attend this course.
How long is the course?
The training lasts a total of 80 hours and is completed in 10 working days.
