Ordinary seaman is a deck rating competency involving deck work on ships and, where necessary, participation in navigational watches and steering under the supervision of an officer of the watch.

Who can attend the course?

Applicants over the age of 16 who are high school graduates and hold a medical report certifying fitness for seafaring at the ordinary seaman level may attend our course.

The STCW Basic Maritime Safety certificates required for the ordinary seaman competency are provided within the duration and facilities of our course.

How long is the course?

The training consists of 232 hours of theory and 24 hours of practical training, lasting a total of 256 hours over 32 working days.
