Holders of second engineer, chief engineer, oceangoing second engineer or oceangoing chief engineer certificates of competency must complete Engine Management Level Competency Renewal Training to renew their expired competencies.
Who can take this training?
Holders of second engineer, chief engineer, oceangoing second engineer or oceangoing chief engineer certificates of competency must complete Engine Management Level Competency Renewal Training to renew their expired competencies.
Those who cannot document three (3) months of sea service during the last six (6) months before their certificates of competency expire,
Those who have not completed at least twelve (12) months of sea service during the last sixty (60) months,
Those who cannot document two (2) years of employment within the last five (5) years in maritime-related organisations, businesses or educational institutions ashore may take this training.
What is the validity period?
By completing this training, participants can extend their existing competencies by five (5) years.
