Deck Operational Level Competency Renewal Training

Who can take this training?

Holders of officer of the watch or oceangoing officer of the watch certificates of competency must complete Deck Operational Level Competency Renewal Training to renew their expired competencies.

Those who cannot document three (3) months of sea service during the last six (6) months before their certificates expire, or who have not completed at least twelve (12) months of sea service during the last sixty (60) months,

Those who cannot document two (2) years of employment within the last five (5) years in maritime-related organisations, businesses or educational institutions ashore may take this training.

What is the validity period?

By completing this training, participants can extend their existing competencies by five (5) years.
