Under the STCW Convention, all ship officers and seafarers involved in cargo operations on liquefied gas tankers must complete basic tanker cargo operations training and have it entered in their seafarer's book.
Who can attend the course?
Pursuant to Regulations V/1-1 and V/1-2 of the Convention and Sections A-V/1-1 and A-V/1-2 of the Code;
Masters, chief engineers, chief mates, second engineers and all personnel with direct responsibility for any cargo operation on liquefied gas tankers must additionally complete advanced training for liquefied gas tanker cargo operations
as a mandatory requirement.
How long is the course?
This training lasts 28 hours and is delivered over 4 days.
